Right here, right now
I have been forced to slow down this month after a busy few months. I’ve even had a break from swimming, which I thought would be awful. But once I made peace with it, it has become a brilliant time to recharge, refocus and think about where I want to put my energy.
I often claim that spinning lots of plates means I get loads done—and sometimes that is true. But without a moment to pause, we can slip into autopilot and stop asking ourselves where we actually want to focus our energy.
This month, I have felt a strong urge to define my coaching niche.
When I qualified as an executive coach, I thought long and hard about whether I wanted to target a particular demographic. In the end, I decided I didn’t. I liked the freedom of coaching a small-business owner in one breath and a marketing director of a large corporation in the next.
Yet a lot has happened in the six years since. I have become clearer about my values, my purpose and how I can best serve people. And although I have never had a formal niche, the people who are drawn to me—and the people I am drawn to—have shared similarities I haven’t quite been able to articulate.
I’ve spent this month exploring that further.
At first, I felt a little lost. I was trying to make sense of my interests in energy, connection, purpose, transitions, loss and grief. How could all of these eclectic threads belong together? It felt as though I was trying to do too much at once, and I began to wonder whether I needed to let something go.
Then I slowed down and tuned in—and realised the answer had been there all along, on my own website.
I re-read the words about the zebra, my brand symbol: balance, agility, clarity without filters and sureness of path. Suddenly, I could see it clearly. I had been trying to understand my own journey and how it has shaped who I coach. The zebra gave me a symbol to connect all of that thinking.
So today, I am putting it out into the world.
Inspired by the zebra—a symbol of clarity, balance, agility and individuality—I coach people in midlife to navigate change, honour the losses that come with conscious choices, and reconnect with the energy to live a path that is unmistakably their own.
Through warmth, perspective and gentle challenge, we explore your values, what makes you come alive, and the healthy habits and rituals that help you live in tune with the rhythm of your life. We treat life as a whole - honouring all of who you are and creating space to understand what you need to be at your best emotionally, physically, spiritually and mentally.
My coaching is inspired by my own journey: taking an unconventional path through work, and finding a profound period of growth and transformation following my Mum’s death. That experience taught me that loss can change what matters, that endings can create space for new beginnings, and that living well means making conscious choices in tune with who we truly are.
If any of this resonates—if you are navigating change, questioning what comes next, or ready to reconnect with your own rhythm—I would love to hear from you.
